Drawing on over 30 years in the education sector, nearing 20 coaching football (soccer) and more than 10 in the fitness industry the team at Fun 4 Fitness will support and guide you to a love of being active!

Susan Innis – Dance Educator, Performer, and Community Advocate

​

Overview

  • Lifelong passion for dance, starting formal lessons at age 6.

  • Extensive experience as a teacher, performer, and advocate for community dance.

  • Dedicated to using dance to inspire confidence, creativity, and inclusion.

 

Education and Early Career

  • Trained under Kiril Vassilkovsky with the Busselton Ballet Company.

  • Assistant teacher with the Busselton Ballet Company (1984–1986).

  • Bachelor of Arts (Drama Studies and English), University of Western Australia, 1989.

  • Graduate Diploma of Education, 1990.

  • Peripatetic dance teacher and drama coach at John Curtin Performing Arts School.

  • Teacher at Leeming Senior High School (1991).

 

Teaching Career in Canberra

  • Moved to Canberra in 1992 with husband, Sean.

  • Drama and English teacher at Marist College; founded All That Jazz, an amateur musical theatre company for youth.

  • Joined Erindale College Staff in 1993, contributing to the development of the first tertiary-level dance program for ACT Year 11 and 12 students.

 

Family and Volunteering

  • Began family in 1997 and became a full-time mum.

  • Volunteered in local schools, providing dance and drama activities.

 

Expanding Teaching Roles

  • Certified Les Mills Body Jam instructor (2008).

  • Licensed Zumba instructor (2010).

  • Taught Zumba classes in schools, gyms, and community centres for all ages (4–80+ years).

  • Delivered primary school dance programs aligned with curriculum requirements.

  • Produced large-scale school dance productions.

 

Career Highlights

  • Tutor for pre-service teachers at the University of Canberra, focusing on incorporating dance into lesson plans.

  • Worked with numerous ACT schools, promoting the transformative power of dance.

  • Supported over-55 populations through community Zumba classes.

  • Partnered with Learning Support Units to engage children with unique needs.

  • Empowering nuerodivergent children to thrive through creative dance environments.

  • Fostering inclusion, confidence, and joy through dance programs.

  • Partnered with The Stellar Company to deliver innovative community dance initiatives.

Aidan Innis is a passionate sports enthusiast with over two decades of involvement in soccer. His extensive experience spans playing, coaching, refereeing, and administration, reflecting his deep commitment to fostering a love for the sport and supporting players of all ages.

 

Experience:

  • Weston Molonglo Football Club:

    • Over 20 years of active involvement with the club, starting as a player at age 6.

    • Current Roles include:

      • Running preseason coaching programs.

      • Assisting with player grading to ensure balanced and competitive teams.

      • Serving as the club’s First Aid Officer, providing crucial support during games and training sessions.

  • Coaching & Refereeing:

    • Became a referee and assistant coach at age 12, completing training courses with enthusiasm and ease.

    • Holds multiple coaching licenses and continues to coach actively.

    • Focuses on inclusive coaching, ensuring every child feels valued and motivated to improve.

  • Capital Football:

    • Has worked in both administrative and operational roles.

    • Currently supports the Walking Football program, promoting activity and community for older players.

    •  Grounds Manager for Masters Competitions, overseeing logistics and event success.

  • Football Australia

    • Providing sporting schools Soccer /Football programs through out Canberra​

 

Coaching Philosophy:
Aidan believes that fostering a love for the game is key to player development. His focus is on creating inclusive and supportive environments where all players, not just star athletes, can thrive. By emphasising teamwork and camaraderie, Aidan helps build teams that excel both on and off the field.

 

Future Aspirations:
Aidan’s decision to pursue a Bachelor of Physiotherapy reflects his passion for supporting the health and performance of athletes. His goal is to combine his physiotherapy expertise with his coaching background to contribute holistically to the well-being and development of players across all levels of sport.

Kate Ford

Profile:

Kate Ford is a dedicated fitness professional with a true passion for promoting fitness and accessibility for all. Starting her journey as a child in calisthenics, Kate developed a lifelong love of movement and health. Her experience working at Curves for seven years ignited her enthusiasm for fitness and fueled her drive to expand her knowledge through various certifications and training programs tailored to different age groups.

  • Certified Curves Circuit Coach

  • Certified Punch Fit Coach

  • Certified Pound (Drumstick Fitness) Coach

  • Licensed Zumba & ZumbaKids Instructor

  • Licensed STRONG Nation

Experience:

  • Founder, Kate Ford Fitness:

    • Runs early morning fitness classes six days a week.

    • Delivers circuit training sessions for organisations, including GG's Flowers and Weston Creek Community Centre.

    • Coaches running sessions for participants training for fun runs and half marathons.

    • Provides ZumbaKids classes to childcare centres across Canberra.

  • Collaborations with Susan Innis:

    • Delivers in-school Dance and Zumba programs for primary schools.

    • Leads after-school and holiday dance programs designed to inspire movement and creativity in children.

Kate’s mission is to create inclusive, engaging fitness opportunities that empower individuals of all ages and fitness levels. She combines her extensive certifications and hands-on experience to foster environments where participants feel supported and motivated to achieve their goals.

Hamish Innis​

Profile:
Hamish Innis combines his passion for soccer with a love for fostering connections and teamwork. While he may not have been the star player, his determination, positivity, and focus on fun made him a vital part of every team he joined. This same energy defines his coaching style, emphasising enjoyment, inclusion, and skill-building.

Experience:

  • Playing & Early Involvement:

    • Began playing soccer at age 6, and continued with his local club through out schooling years.

  • Mentoring & Refereeing

    • Became a Game Leader at age 12, supporting younger players in understanding the game.
    • Progressed to referee at 13, gaining a deeper understanding of the sport and its rules.

    • As a referee Hamish spent many hours mentoring younger club members and assisting new coaches understand the laws of the game. 

    • Refereed at 2 Kanga Cup competitions.

  • Coaching:

    • Started coaching at 15 with Fun4Fitness, where he continued to develop his passion for mentoring younger players.

    • Continued coaching roles at Arawang and Red Hill, balancing his academic pursuits with his commitment to youth development.

    • Focuses on creating a fun and inclusive environment where all players feel encouraged to participate and grow.

  • Administrative Roles:

    • In 2024, expanded his contributions by assisting with the administration side of the coaching business.

    • Provides organizational support to ensure smooth operations and effective program delivery.

 

Coaching Philosophy:
Hamish believes soccer is more than just a game—it’s a way to build friendships, confidence, and life skills. His coaching prioritizes creating a positive atmosphere where players can have fun, develop their skills, and enjoy being part of a team.
